The Blue Room vertegenwoordigt het officiële, institutionele Europa en wil meer bepaald de problematische kloof en de niet-communicatie tussen de Europese Unie en haar burgers visualiseren en ter discussie stellen. Deze kamer of installatie kan enerzijds dienen als instrument voor de EU-burgers om een dialoog aan te gaan met de beleidsmakers. Anderzijds biedt The Blue Room de mogelijkheid aan de beleidsmakers en ‘Eurocraten’ om de grijze façade waarmee hun instellingen in de publieke opinie vaak worden geassocieerd, af te breken.

The Blue Room represents official, institutional Europe and is aimed more at visualising the problematic gap and non-communication between the European Union and its citizens and putting this up for discussion. On the one hand, this room or installation can serve as an instrument for EU citizens to enter into dialogue with policy-makers. On the other, The Blue Room offers policy-makers and ‘Eurocrats’ the opportunity to dismantle the grey façades with which their institutions are often associated in the minds of the public.
